Not Repaired, but Recreated
2 Corinthians 5:17
Main Idea: In Christ, you don’t receive an improved version of yourself—you receive a completely new identity.
1. THE POSITION THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
“If anyone is in Christ”
Christianity does not begin with change, but with position. Not what you do, but where you are—in Christ.
Application:
Many try to live change without understanding their position.
Phrase:
“It is not behavior that makes you a Christian, but your position in Christ.”
2. THE TRANSFORMATION IS RADICAL
“He is a new creation”
Not moral improvement, but a new creation.
Application:
Stop negotiating with your old nature.
Phrase:
“God does not improve you—He recreates you.”
3. THE PAST NO LONGER DEFINES YOU
“The old has gone”
Your past no longer has authority over your identity.
Application:
Stop living from past labels.
Phrase:
“What God has closed, you must not reopen.”
4. THE NEW LIFE BECOMES VISIBLE
“All things have become new”
Inner change produces outward evidence.
Application:
Real transformation is visible.
Phrase:
“If nothing has changed, something never happened.”
